On Art: Karl Hirzer of the CPO talks about Professor Bad Trip, projection mapping, and poetry

Psychedelia is not something one would usually associate with chamber music. However, Professor Bad Trip by the late Italian composer Fausto Romitelli is one piece that certainly fits the bill!

Once described as “what classical music on drugs would sound like,” Professor Bad Trip is being tackled by conductor Karl Hirzer and members of the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra on Friday, March 3 as part of the Late Night at The GRAND series.

In addition to the music, the event will feature projection mapping by Axis-Z Media Arts, led by Laura Anzola and Matthew Waddell, as well as poetry from Zoey Roy.
