March 12 UPDATE from Engineering:

• Due to strobe light replacement on our main tower in Calgary we needed to switch to our off-site backup transmitter (Tower rigger safety code 6 regulations). This off-site backup transmitter does not cover the city as well as our main site. As a result some listeners will experience a noisy signal or in some cases no audio. This situation will last the rest of the day today and for a short time tomorrow. When we go back to our main site the power will be reduced but should only impact listening quality marginally.

February 27 UPDATE from Engineering:

• In mid-February Shaw moved CKUA’s signal to a new satellite. If you are a Shaw customer that uses channel 828 or 492 to listen to CKUA, you may need to reboot your receiver to connect with our signal at the new satellite location. If this does not work, call Shaw and they will arrange an upgrade of your receiver for free.

January 24 UPDATE from Engineering:

• CKUA is beginning the work to point the transmitters to the new satellite.

• The project will occur over four phases, beginning Jan 29. The first phase will affect CKUA’s southern Alberta transmitters: Medicine Hat, Lethbridge, Canmore-Bow Valley, Drumheller, and Red Deer.

• This phase of the project is estimated to take four weeks. While the repositioning to the new satellite is happening, there may be interruptions to FM service.
