On Books: ‘Grain Elevators: Beacons of the Prairies’ by Chris Attrell

Interview

In his new book Grain Elevators: Beacons of the Prairies, Saskatchewan photographer Chris Attrell again turns his lens to the landscape of his adopted home. Chris has spent decades chronicling living Western Canadian history.

The bestselling author of Forgotten Saskatchewan continues his exploration of the Canadian Prairies, celebrating these iconic landmarks that shape the character of our prairie provinces.

On Friday, December 3, 2021 on Alberta Morning, CKUA’s Grant Stovel spoke with Attrell about these vanishing sentinels of the prairie landscape. Attrell will share stories with us about a few remarkable Alberta elevators, and he’ll explore the role grain elevators play in shaping prairie communities, and what they tell us about our past.
