The Immigrant Council for Arts Innovation (ICAI) is excited to announce that February’s Artist of the Month is visual and performing artist Cristiana Tercero.
Cristiana originally hails from Nicaragua and has been residing in Canada for almost four years. Her artistic practice spans multiple disciplines, with her initial focus being the performative arts.
In her adult years, Cristiana has additionally branched out into visual arts such as digital illustration and animation. Cristiana’s art has a strong focus on female figures and nature, as well as various social justice issues. In college she majored in Graphic Design and Visual Communication, with her final thesis project promoting safety and respect for Latin-American women in public spaces.
Cristiana joined CKUA’s Lisa Wilton at 5:45 PM (MT) on Traffic Jams, Tuesday, Feb 8 to discuss her ICAI nomination, inspirations, and artistic journey thus far:
