All of us at CKUA stood up and cheered in May, when David Myles won the JUNO award for Instrumental Album of the Year, for his beautiful record That Tall Distance. We get to root for him again as he embarks on a busy cross-Canada tour this fall, and pursues more musical projects.
With so many incredible projects on the go, David has made the decision to focus fully on his music career, which means that it is time to say goodbye to his CKUA program, Myles from Home. We know this could not have been an easy decision, and we wish David all the best in his travels and his musical career.
David happily shares this with his CKUA audience: “I want to thank you, the listeners. It’s been my privilege to play music for you, to talk about music, and even sing a few songs for you. CKUA is a community of music lovers, for music lovers; that’s why it was so fun to be part of it. I loved being music nerds together. I’ll be back as a fill-in host when that’s possible, so I hope we can catch up soon!”
If you want to see David Myles in concert in Alberta, he’ll be at the Arden Theatre in St. Albert on October 19, and at the National Music Centre in Calgary on October 20.
The last episode of Myles from Home will air on September 5. Feel free to get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org to send a note and wish David well!
