What if open mic night went beyond singing or comedy? An arts group in Calgary is applying the concept of open mic to the visual arts with their upcoming Open HDMI Art Night on August 25, 2023.
EMMEDIA Gallery & Production Society is an artist run organization based in Calgary that supports the creation and presentation of media arts. The group’s goal is to foster engagement though artistic practices and on Friday, August 25, 2023 they are asking artists to plug in. Visual media artists from all walks of life are encouraged to bring a device and their inventive prowess to the very first Open HDMI Art Night in YYC.
On Thoroughfare , Kadra Yusuf, Artistic Director of EMMEDIA and multimedia artist Mackenzie Bedford joined Tony King to talk about how a collective of people can come together with an HDMI cable to create something electric.
