The ESO’s Rusty Musicians virtual Orchestra performs “Night on Bald Mountain”

Interview

One of the highlights of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra calendar is the annual intensive workshop & mentoring experience where amateur musicians get to “ride along” with the ESO pros.

It’s a program known as the Rusty Musicians Summer Camp. Despite the barriers imposed by the current global health crisis, the ESO still managed to find a way to help a whole bunch of Rusty Musicians work some of those kinks out.

Grant Stovel recently chatted with a couple of the people who made The Rusty Musicians’ virtual camp happen: the project’s Audio Engineer & Producer, Graham Fast and Anne-Marie Switzer, Musical Creativity Coordinator with the ESO.

Check out our interview with Anne-Marie Switzer last spring here. Below you can watch the new recording of Mussorgsky’s Night on Bald Mountain, as played by the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra’s Rusty Musicians program.
