Edmonton’s Up + Downtown Music Festival is throwing a big one-day, one-off, all-ages, all-local celebration of live music and community on August 7th.
Called Purple City, it takes place at Hawrelak Park’s Heritage Amphitheatre, nestled in Edmonton’s beautiful river valley.
Festival Director Ryan Rathjen joined Grant Stovel to talk about the importance of championing local music, making space for youth to enjoy the live music experience, and how Purple City is spurring some exciting new musical collaborations between the artists.
