Mile Zero Dance returns to nature with ‘The Disaster Show’

Interview

Gerry Morita didn’t expect to be celebrating Mile Zero Dance’s 35th season during a pandemic. However, the artistic director is taking it in stride. The Edmonton-based company is gearing up for their third production of the year: The Disaster Show.

Happening Friday Nov 27th and Saturday Nov 28th, the ambitious production follows three dancers as take their final dances with the natural elements of fire, wind and ice.

Lisa Wilton spoke with Gerry about the show’s hopeful message, and how new technology, such as Zoom, inspired its creation:

The Disaster Show streams Friday at 7pm MT and Saturday at 2pm MT. Tickets are by donation. Visit milezerodance.com for more information and to get tickets.
