Inclusivity is the name of the game at a new store in Edmonton. Pe Metawe Games opened its doors on Edmonton Avenue two weeks ago and has already attracted attention for its selection of Indigenous-made board games.
Pe Metawe means “Come and Play” in Cree. Owner David Plamondon is a member of the Whitefish Lake First Nation and has been playing board games since he was 12 years old.
CKUA’s Lisa Wilton spoke with David about how his love of gaming turned into a career, and their virtual grand opening on Zoom and Facebook on Wednesday March 3, 2021, at 3:30 PM (MT).
