Clinton St. John and Florida BC bring you Salt Breaker Sand

Clinton St. John is a Calgary based multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and visual artist, whose latest project, Florida BC has been described as noir rock and is getting a lot of well-deserved attention.

The quartet – which includes musicians Jeff MacLeod, Carl Davison and Morgan Greenwood – recorded their new album, Salt Breaker Sand in Montreal with producer and former Calgarian, Scott Munro of Polaris Prize-nominated band, Preoccupations. It’s a fascinating blend of grungey guitar, foreboding folk and opaque lyricism.

Lisa Wilton recently spoke with Clinton about a bizarre real-life story that inspired one of the tracks on the new album.

Clinton St. John and Florida BC are throwing a socially distanced release party for their new album, Salt Breaker Sand, Friday and Saturday at the Ironwood Stage in Calgary. For tickets and more information go to or call 403-269-5581.
