Bob Everett has always been driven by a passion for playing drums and for sharing his love of drumming with others. That’s fuelled him, from his days in the ‘70s, behind the kit with Calgary rock band Done on Bradstreet, through to the world-renowned vintage drum shop he used to run, Beat It.
These days, Bob has taken that passion to the next level – to a digital platform, in fact! He just launched a new app for Apple devices; it’s called Beat It Drums.
The aim of the app is to help drummers at all levels to hone their grooves, thanks to Bob’s own easy-to-understand system of drum notation, along with sounds sampled from his vintage drum collection. Bob also had plenty of talented collaborators on this project– including his son Shawn Everett, who happens to be a Grammy-winning recording engineer and producer!
CKUA’s Grant Stovel caught up with Bob Everett to talk about his new app.
