Blue Jeans Theatre adapts ‘A Christmas Carol’ for Drag

Interview

This month, Calgary’s Blue Jeans Theatre presents Christmas Carol: A Drag Story. This adaptation of the Dicken’s classic features characters in drag, with an almost entirely LGBTQIA2S+ cast and crew. It is the first ever production for the city’s new queer theatre collective.

The collective is headed up by artistic director Shannon Murphy and artistic associate Kristy Benz. They recently joined CKUA’s Grant Stovel to tell us more about this Drag take on a holiday classic.

Christmas Carol: A Drag Story runs December 16th through December 23rd. You can find tickets online at ChristmasCarolDragStory.bpt.me.
