CKUA strives to use our music, arts and culture programming as a calming force amid the turbulent world around us.
Much of the world is hurting right now, and we believe that music is one of the best medicines.
The musical contributions and influences of black, indigenous and people of colour inform a lot of the music we play and the stories behind the music that we tell on CKUA. As such, we have chosen to continue with our regularly scheduled programming on Tuesday.
In recognition of #TheShowMustBePaused, we will take a break from our online presence for the day so that meaningful real-world conversations can take place about race, unity and healing.
Racism and intolerance have no place in our communities, and we encourage our staff and listeners to take the time on Tuesday – and every day – to reflect and discuss how we can contribute to a more united and equal future.
