What a weekend of camaraderie, excitement, and glorious, glorious jazz.
Our first on-the-ground CKUA festival presence in three long years, Medicine Hat JazzFest was a beautiful way to kick off our summertime music festival season.
A crew of CKUA staff and volunteers were busy as bees all weekend. They mixed, they mingled, they spread the word about CKUA, and they made sure our live broadcast went as smoothly as the jazz itself. Kodi Hutchinson, host of CKUA’s A Time for Jazz, was here, there and everywhere —talking music with CKUA fans, interviewing artists, and hosting the Thursday night broadcast.
Kodi says: “It was great to be a part of the first ever CKUA broadcast from the Medicine Hat Jazz Festival. The volunteers for both the festival and CKUA had a wonderful time, and the music was incredible. From the sounds of it, the crowds were most appreciative and there were lots of people out for the concerts. Fantastic community and festival in Medicine Hat.”
You said it, Kodi. What an uplifting experience of coming together to celebrate music. And it’s just the start of our CKUA Summer! Learn more about what’s to come.
