Quilt of Belonging, Speak UP! events mark Canada Day

Interview

Albertans will have a few more options for engaging with arts and culture in person as Canada Day approaches.

On Wednesday, June 30, 2021 on Alberta Morning, CKUA’s Scott Zielsdorf highlights a few of the in-person events and exhibitions you can explore on July 1.

His highlights include the Speak UP! Exhibit showcasing the work of Indigenous artists who have made, or are making social impacts on a local, regional, or national level. Patrons will be able to explore the exhibition in person, as the National Music Centre reopens for its fifth anniversary on July 1.

Plus, Scott previews the Royal Alberta Museum’s Quilt of Belonging which serves as a symbol of the diversity of Canada. We’ll also learn more about the Indigenous Conversations event taking place in Banff’s Central Park, led by Daryl Kootenay of the Stoney Nakoda Nation.
