Contemporary Calgary balances between relaunch and remaining virtual

Today marks Stage 1 of the provinces plan to relaunch Alberta’s economy. The plan allows some businesses and facilities to reopen, including museums and art galleries. While cultural institutions work on plans to reopen safely, we thought we’d check in with one gallery that’s remaining focused on the virtual experience, while planning to reopen its doors.

This month, Contemporary Calgary is taking its annual Collider artist residency online. They’ve also helped to build a digital network for galleries to showcase contemporary Canadian art.

David Leinster, the CEO of Contemporary Calgary, and Ryan Doherty, the gallery’s Chief Curator, joined Grant Stovel on Alberta Morning:
