Each month, CKUA will introduce you to the Immigrant Council for Arts Innovation’s Artist of the Month. On a recent episode of Alberta Morning, we welcomed Ighoche Ogwiji, professionally known as Ogwijilghoche. Ighoche is a Calgary-based painter and sculptor whose work has been exhibited in Nigeria and Calgary.
He first fell in love with art as a child back home in Nigeria, drawing scenes and landscapes that he saw in the Western movies and comic books that he loved.
When he moved to Calgary in December 2019, he discovered much of what fascinated him as a child – in real life!
