Alex says that this album was “born in a different way.” Alex’s cousin in Cuba sent him a video of their aunt singing, and as Alex notes, “Nobody had ever heard Tia Yoya sing, but since developing dementia, she has started singing the songs that my uncle writes—and her voice is beautiful!”
This is the spark that created the intimate Voces De Mi Familia album. In this warm and flowing conversation, Alex shares his feelings about his family, and the relationships that are inextricably bound together with music.
