We can hardly contain our excitement as we touch down at Calgary’s Sled Island…. well… Sled Alley, June 22, for our first on-site experience of CKUA Summer 2024!
We’ll have a table with volunteers, and fun info about CKUA. We’d love to meet you. Please come find us in the alley, pick up some fresh swag or merch and say hello!
Plus, be sure to tune in to Far Out, Wednesday, June 19, 7pm – 8pm, when Amy Van Keeken looks ahead to Sled Island. Amy will share interviews with Jeff Parker, Hermitess, and festival manager, Hemen Tor-Agbidye.

On Thursday, June 20, from 1pm-3pm MT, join Tony King for Thoroughfare. Tony brings you a two-hour special program, shining the spotlight on The TD Edmonton International Jazz Festival and the TD Summer Jazz Festival in Calgary! Hear a wide variety of music, and conversations with Kent Sangster, Laura Anglade, Simon Williams, Lakecia Benjamin, Sunny Jain, and Pasquale Grasso.
Want more jazz? Join Kodi Hutchinson for A Time For Jazz, Thursday, June 20, from 6pm-8pm MT for a preview of Medicine Hat JazzFest. Tune in to hear an incredible selection of music from bands playing at this year’s festival. We’ll also hear from the festival’s Artistic Director Lyle Rebbeck, and Vancouver-based composer and keyboardist Mary Ancheta, who is playing Alberta as the Mary Ancheta Quartet for the first time.
