Pepperland Plays The Beatles – 60 Years Since Sullivan

Saturday, April 6th $15

Founded in 2011, Pepperland is an Edmonton quartet specializing in the music of the Beatles, and has performed that music on concert stages across Alberta. This is not a band of mop-top impersonators, nor is it a tribute band in the traditional or theatrical sense. Instead, Pepperland plays the Beatles as a celebration of music and spirit, and gives audiences a taste of what might have been had the group continued and rekindled their love of live performance in the 1970s and beyond. Featuring CKUA’s Oskar Zybart as frontman.

2024 marks the 60th anniversary of the Beatles TV debut in North America on the Ed Sullivan Show! These concert appearances are the ones which changed the world and launched Beatlemania internationally. Pepperland is commemorating the anniversary by playing a special “Sullivan” set during its 2024 concerts. This will include every song the Beatles performed across all four of their Ed Sullivan performances – along with a few special extras for good measure!

———————————————————————————-

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
