Isidore String Quartet

Saturday, April 13th

Winners of the 14th Banff International String Quartet Competition in 2022, the New York City-based Isidore String Quartet was formed in 2019 with a vision to revisit, rediscover, and reinvigorate the repertory. The quartet is heavily influenced by the Juilliard String Quartet and the idea of approaching the established as if it were brand new, and the new as if it were firmly established.
The four began as an ensemble at the Juilliard School, and following a break during the global pandemic reconvened at the Kneisel Hall Chamber Music Festival in the summer of 2021 under the tutelage of Joel Krosnick.
The program includes Haydn’s Quartet in C Major, Op 20, No 2; Billy Childs’ Quartet No 2 “Awakening” (2012) and Mendelssohn’s Quartet No. 5 in E-flat Major, Op. 44, No. 3.

Purchase tickets online at calgarypromusica.ca. Tickets are $45 for adults and $35 for seniors/students; $5 student rush tickets are available at the Rozsa Centre Box Office beginning at 7:00 PM.

Calgary Pro Musica’s pre-concert talk will take place in the Rozsa Centre’s CIBC Hub Room at 7:15 PM with CPM’s Young Artists Development Program member Dakota Perez.

———————————————————————————-

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
