Freehand Spring 2024 Book Launch Party

Friday, May 10th

Freehand Books, an independent publisher in Calgary, has championed Canadian and Albertan writers for fifteen years. Join Freehand Books in Calgary at the Memorial Park Library to hear four superbly talented writers read from their brand new books.

Catherine Owen reads from Moving to Delilah, a poetry collection about one woman’s journey from BC to a new life in Alberta, where she buys an old house and creates a new meaning of home.

Jasmina Odor regales us with The Harvesters, an offbeat and sweet novel about family, loss and recovery, and the magic of memory.

Marion Douglas presents The Game of Giants, a novel about the unpredictability of parenthood, a journey into the unchartered territory that is having a child, especially when that child turns out to be different.

Sara Power debuts with Art of Camouflage, a collection of stories about girls and women caught in the orbit of the military.

Please RSVP so we can anticipate attendance in advance!
