About Claire:
A Humber Music graduate and former Toronto musician, she now resides back on the west coast and has been touring her music steadily since 2017. 2023 was a busy year (5 tours!) promoting Claire’s new album, “New Light”. She has performed all over Canada/The UK with official showcases at Folk Music Ontario and Digital Currents showcase series (Salmon Arm Roots n Blues Fest) and festivals such as CityFolk Ottawa, Harbour Blues ‘n Roots Fest (Vic), Mosaic Festival (Pender Island), Arisaig Americana Festival (Scotland), and many more. She has a busy spring and summer 2024 touring season and is excited to be playing a string of Alberta dates for the first time! Full tour details can be found here:

The Music:
Claire Coupland is making a name for herself as a moving songwriter, a skilled vocalist, and a compelling guitarist combining smooth finger picking, jazz influenced progressions and soaring melodies. She effortlessly pulls her audience into her personal and honest world of life experiences touching on themes of love, fragile family dynamics, self doubt and optimism in the world around her. With the softness and clarity comparable to Eva Cassidy, she brings a fresh, graceful contemporary feel to indie folk and is sure to move audiences with skillfully crafted songs but also charm them with her “wicked sense of humour” (Rik Emmett, Triumph). “Her voice takes your breath away. Smokey, earthy, and as pure as the mountain air” -Blues & Roots Radio Worldwide

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we’d love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
