Big Little Lions

Thursday, March 21st

Big Little Lions are coming to Alberta this Spring! Their sound fuses the melodic sense of indie rock and pop with the intimate, heartfelt lyrics of acoustic folk and singer-songwriters.

Their live show, which is sprinkled with Simon and Garfunkel tunes, is quite the spectacle with Paul playing drums, bass and keyboard all while singing lead vocals. Helen, who is no slacker either, sings, plays guitar and foot percussion. They use every limb, and then some, to make two people sound like a full band.

They have released 7 albums to date, which have garnered them awards including a Canadian Folk Music Award for Ensemble of the Year, Independent Music Awards for Americana Single of the Year and the John Lennon Songwriting Competition Song of the Year.

Music starts at 8pm. PWYC.

———————————————————————————-

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
