Alberta Wilderness Association Earth Day Celebration

Sunday, April 21st

Price: By Donation

Join Alberta Wilderness Association for an Earth Day barbeque at our Calgary office in Kensington.

We’ll eat, mingle and hear from Alberta nature photographer Nick Carter, a writer, photographer, and naturalist from Edmonton. A lifelong love of nature led him to complete a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Alberta. Nick’s interests and experience in natural history span a wide range of topics, from birds and butterflies to fossils and flowers.

Nick’s experience in science and nature interpretative guiding include educational roles at Jurassic Forest, TELUS World of Science Edmonton, the John Janzen Nature Centre, Muttart Conservatory, and the Philip J. Currie Dinosaur Museum. Nick has also worked as an ornithologist at the Royal Alberta Museum and is currently an educator with the Canadian Wildlife Federation in Edmonton. As a writer, Nick has produced columns, articles, blog posts, and guidebooks about Alberta’s wildlife, palaeontology, geology, and natural areas. His work has appeared in a variety of magazines, newspapers, and blogs including Nature Alberta Magazine, Poplar Magazine, Alberta Prime Times, and Interpretation Canada.

Nick’s wildlife and nature photos have appeared alongside his writing pieces as well as online provincial art showcases, and he has also dabbled in portrait photography.

———————————————————————————-

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
