Trina Moyles receives an Emerging Artist Award

Albertan author and journalist Trina Moyles grew up immersed in the forests of the Peace River region. The nature-loving writer spends her summers as a seasonal forest fire lookout, and those experiences helped shape her award-winning book, Lookout: Love, Solitude, and Searching for Wildfire in the Boreal Forest.

In addition to her writing and ongoing work in Canada’s boreal forest, Trina has been involved with numerous human rights and grassroots development projects around the world. Most recently, her writing is being recognized by the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Arts Awards, with an Emerging Artist Award. In 2021, she spoke with CKUA’s Grant Stovel about the release of Lookout and now, one year later, Trina returned to Alberta Morning to talk with Grant about her life and vast career:
