What’s the  Gotta Minute Film Festival?

Interview

Not only do you have time to watch one of these films while you’re on the LRT or CTrain platform, you might even have time to MAKE one! And you won’t have to worry about how noisy those trains are.

Submissions are now open for the Gotta Minute Film Fest, which screens one-minute silent films for commuters in Edmonton and Calgary.

This celebration of public art is presented by Pattison OneStop and The Film and Video Arts Society of Alberta (FAVA). The festival welcomes all genres of film: documentary, animated, experimental, or whatever your imagination can dream up, for sixty silent seconds onscreen! When you enter, you’re eligible to have your work featured on a high-visibility public platform (ha! platform), and for cash prizes and awards.

Lisa Wilton explored this contest (including what it takes to create a winner) with Beth Wishart MacKenzie on the Thursday, May 13, 2021 edition of Traffic Jams.
