Del Barber previews new album: ‘Easy Keeper’

Sessions

Del Barber recently invited us to Edmonton’s The Audio Department for a look behind-the-scenes of the recording of his new album, Easy Keeper. The session included one of his favourite tunes from the new record, a song called “Louise.” “It’s about a neighbour I have a bit of a crush on, she’s got a couple of replaced knees,” Del told CKUA. “She’s one of these women who’ve been through every fire in life, but still manages to have this absolute hopeful disposition and it’s something I crave.” Del also previewed a second live track from the forthcoming record called “No Easy Way Out” about a gruff gas station attendant he met in Virden, Manitoba. “She’s been working there for decades,” says Del. “I finally was able to convince her to give me a bit of her story after modestly flirting with her for a few years. This is her story.”
