Thoroughfare with host Tony King
Monday, October 13, 1pm – 3pm MT
On October 13, 2021, someone familiar with fictitious space travel, William Shatner, blasted off into space. In his memoir, Shatner suggested that he felt an “overwhelming sadness” that is not uncommon for space travelers grappling with, as Sally Ride put it, the “Overview Effect” which takes place when we observe our little blue orb and grapple with its fragility in the face of humanity. On Thoroughfare Monday, join Tony King to dip into space and unearth the many precious things we have to be thankful for through music!
Raising Voices with host Orest Soltykevych
Monday, October 13, 8pm – 10pm MT
Through the years, English conductor and composer John Rutter has composed quite a number of settings of various psalms. And in 1993, he compiled a collection of nine of these psalms, and called the set Psalmfest. On Thanksgiving Day, host Orest Soltykevych will play four excerpts from John Rutter’s Psalmfest.
All of us at CKUA wish you a Happy Thanksgiving!
