Wednesday, July 31 will be the Alberta Day Of Caring. CKUA is joining every radio station in Alberta, as together, we support those impacted by the Jasper wildfire.
Your donation will allow the Canadian Red Cross to provide people with humanitarian aid, such as financial assistance and relief supplies.
The Government of Canada and the Government of Alberta will match every dollar donated by Canadians to the Canadian Red Cross 2024 Alberta Fires Appeal. This means that every $1 donated will become $3 to support those affected by the wildfires.
“When we heard about The Alberta Day of Caring, we knew we wanted to participate,” says Karla Schell, CKUA’s Director of Community Relations. “CKUA is proud to be Alberta’s province-wide broadcaster. We know that CKUA listeners throughout the province and throughout the country have been heartbroken to see the devastation in Jasper.”
CKUA has had a strong presence in the westernmost part of the province for decades. Our signal reaches listeners in nearby Yellowhead County through our Hinton transmitter. Residents of Jasper National Park and the Jasper townsite can listen through online streaming.
To our listeners in Jasper and everyone affected by the wildfire, please know that all of us at CKUA are sending you our love and support.
