Taste of Edmonton takes place in Edmonton’s Churchill Square between July 20 and July 30, and it might just be the perfect blend of unique foods and wonderful music. On the playbill this year are stars such as Terra Lightfoot, The Denim Daddies, The Sadies, and The Watchmen.
Keri Rak will have a special preview of Taste of Edmonton during the July 15 Wake-Up Shake-Up, so tune in to hear some songs with great, well, flavour. We also asked Keri for her menu choices from the festival, and here are her picks.
Beverage: “I’d have to start out with a coconut smoothie from Coconut Jungle (Booth 39) because I’m a huge fan of anything coconut, it would be refreshing, and it comes in the cutest little palm tree. Sold!”
Appetizer: “Green onion cakes from Hong Kong Bakery (Booth 14). It’s like you’re eating a savoury pancake, and the green onions make me feel like I’m eating my vegetables.”
Dinner: “Jerk chicken with rice & peas from Irie Foods (Booth 3). Spicy island goodness! I would also try the poke donut from Splash Poke (Booth 6). I mean, come on. Two of the best things in life made into one. And a donut that’s healthy! Plus, it looks like a work of art.”
Dessert: “Probably the hardest one to choose. I’m goin’ with pudd’n’! Blueberry pudd’n’ with vanilla sauce from K&J Kitchen (Truck A). It looks like something my mom would have made in the summer.”
