Stephanie Harpe Experience – S.H.E.

Story

We recently caught up with Stephanie Harpe, band leader of the 5-piece rock band Stephanie Harpe Experience (S.H.E.) to find out more about her music, her success, and her connection to a legendary CKUA host, Holger Petersen.

“I was born in Edmonton, then taken away to a residential school when I was ten,” she says, “and I’ve been making music in Edmonton since I was a teenager. I was discovered by Jeff Healey when I was eighteen.” It was Jeff Healey who connected Stephanie with other industry icons: Barry Allen and Holger Petersen. “I was so blessed that Jeff gave me the advice to work with Holger. It was a great fit. Barry and Holger were so supportive and kind, and they made our album successful.”

S.H.E. has opened for some of the biggest names in Canadian music: Trooper, Savoy Brown, Tom Cochrane & Red Rider, Barenaked Ladies, Blue Rodeo, CCR Revisited, Colin James, Streetheart, Kim Mitchell, The Stampeders, David Wilcox, Buckcherry, Loverboy, and Darby Mills (formerly of the Headpins). S.H.E.’s album was recorded at Homestead Recorders with Barry Allen as producer, and direction from Holger Petersen.

S.H.E. has numerous upcoming shows, including Treaty Days in Fort McKay, and various concerts and festivals throughout the summer. You can get information about the band’s schedule on their Facebook page, including shows in Edmonton on June 10 and 11.
