Residency is back with a familiar late-night voice for 2026!
Starting on Saturday, March 7 at 12am MT, Aladean Kheroufi takes the reins of Residency with his new program, Fresh Flowers.
“Fresh flowers seem to be saved for special occasions: weddings, birthdays, funerals, and graduations. But why should something so thoughtful be saved for these events?” says Kheroufi. “I believe we all deserve Fresh Flowers for every occasion, and that’s the concept for this show. This is music for all occasions.”
Fresh Flowers will feature thoughtfully curated selections from Kheroufi’s diverse musical taste, relying on heavy backbeats, sentimental thoughts, lush arrangements, and sweet harmony. Listeners can expect sounds spanning jazz, R&B, soul, Latin, mailbox country & Western, and beyond.
Late night CKUA listeners are likely already familiar with Kheroufi’s musical stylings. An accomplished singer-songwriter in his own right, Kheroufi also hosts River Valley Sessions, airing on Sundays from midnight-1am MT. While River Valley Sessions is recorded live at Dogpatch Bistro Pub and focuses exclusively on his live vinyl sets, Fresh Flowers allows Kheroufi to explore music in all formats.
“Fresh Flowers gives me more flexibility than my other show, which limits me to records in the CKUA library and my personal collection.” Kheroufi explains. “Although both of these collections are extensive, there’s still so much music in the world that I’m not able to play.”
Tune in starting Saturday, March 7, midnight – 1am MT for a bouquet of Kheroufi’s carefully curated tunes sure to brighten your evening and carry you into the early hours — no special occasion required.
Residency is an hour-long slot featuring fresh multi-genre programming from new voices and special guests. It follows Friday Night Blues Party, airing midnight – 1am MT on Saturdays.
