CKUA is proud to announce a $100,000 gift from National Bank of Canada.

Founded in 1859, National Bank of Canada offers comprehensive personal and business banking, wealth management, and have a capital markets division.

“National Bank has partnered with CKUA because we value the opportunity to support an important community organization that has been bringing Albertans together, building a community of listeners through a shared love of music and the stories that shape our lives, for generations,” says Angela Saveraux, Senior Director, Marketing, Commercial West at National Bank.

“As a Canadian institution that is deeply invested in helping Canadians achieve their ambitions, we understand the importance of spaces that bring people together to enjoy a sense of belonging and connection. As we expand our presence in Western Canada and especially here in Edmonton with a regional headquarters in the heart of downtown, we’re excited to help CKUA celebrate 100 years!”

Already known to CKUA listeners as a sponsor of the CKUA program Natch’l Blues, National Bank sees this gift as another investment in the cultural community.

“Arts and culture play a vital role in building strong communities because they bring people together and make them feel a connection in ways that few other things can,” says Saveraux. “They give us opportunities to express ourselves, celebrate our differences, discover values we have in common, and build a strong sense of belonging. At National Bank, we’ve always believed that the arts are to be appreciated as an important catalyst of shared values and culture, and we are grateful to count on partners like CKUA to bring the art of music to life.”

Kevin Fitzgerald, CKUA’s Chief Development Officer, says, “National Bank is committed to building vibrant, connected communities. With National Bank significantly growing its presence in Alberta, it became clear that a partnership with CKUA was a natural fit. In our conversations with National Bank, we quickly determined that they were focused on business growth and social responsibility. We appreciate their significant support, especially as we move into our 100th anniversary year!”

Thank you to our friends at National Bank for this generous gift. We are so grateful for your support of CKUA and your commitment to community. Throughout the day on Thursday, September 10, 2026, we acknowledged National Bank on the air, and celebrated this important investment in CKUA’s future.

Over the coming months, we’ll share more info about how corporate giving will strengthen CKUA in the future. Learn about CKUA’s fundraising and community support plans here.
