Going Solar with Weayaya Music Festival

News

CKUA’s summer festival celebrations continue as we shine some light on Weayaya, Canada’s first and only solar powered music festival! Tune in at 11 AM (MT) on Sunday, July 12, as host Tony King transports us to this family-friendly music festival on the banks of the Blindman River.

Expect a playlist chock-full of homegrown talent, in line with Weayaya’s commitment to promote Alberta-based talent. We’ll hear from festival organizers, volunteers, and artists who will tell us the story of this truly unique, off-the-grid musical celebration.

Joining Tony King will be Weayaya Founder and Festival Director, Karen Magee, Artistic Director Shiv Shanks, and Amanda Lemay, performer with the CKUA Ukulele Choir.

Plus, we’ll look ahead to the acts in-store for the 2021 edition of the festival.

Tune in Sunday July 12 at 11:00 AM
