December 2 is GivingTuesday! Known as the “opening day of the giving season,” it is a day to support worthy causes and celebrate generosity. CKUA is a registered charity, committed to lifting people up through the power of music, arts, and culture. We rely on donations from listeners.
This year alone, CKUA celebrated and supported more than 60 festivals in Alberta—interviewing artists, connecting with music lovers, and creating content showcasing the best of Alberta’s music, arts, and culture community.

Now, we’re turning our attention to the upcoming winter festival season. Like all Albertans know, shorter days and colder nights don’t mean the music has to stop! We can’t wait to share amazing music and stories from Winterruption in Edmonton, Cold Bones Fest in Drumheller, Block Heater in Calgary, and more this winter!
