November 28 is Giving Tuesday, often called the start of the giving season. It’s a worldwide day of recognition that everyone has something to give, and every act of generosity counts.
There are so many different ways to express generosity. Some people volunteer, giving their time to support worthwhile causes or people in need. Others engage with their local community, helping neighbours or planning events. And many make direct financial donations to charitable organizations.
This Giving Tuesday we invite you to consider supporting CKUA’s satellite project—an act of generosity that will support Albertans in every community.
The current satellite that transmits our signal across Alberta is in need of replacement and we are rushing to come up with a new solution. Thanks to the Edmonton Community Foundation and four generous donors who jumped in to help us in our hour of need, we are 60% of the way to our $250,000 goal, and every little bit counts.
At CKUA, we see the impact of generosity daily. We have a dedicated crew of volunteers who support our daily work with initiatives like thank you calls, data entry, library work, and hospitality. We hear stories of people in our community who are there for each other, offering acts of kindness. And we never lose sight of the fact that most of CKUA’s annual revenue comes from donors—people who step up to contribute and sustain this community-minded broadcaster.
Join us this Giving Tuesday. Your generosity will help keep Albertans connected to their favourite radio station and their daily dose of music, arts, and culture.
CKUA is a registered charity. We’d be honoured to be among the organizations you support this season. Because CKUA matters to you, donate today.
