We’re counting down the minutes to the Fall Fundraiser kick-off! To celebrate, we are having a music-filled party in Calgary.
Join us this Friday, October 17 at the Ironwood Stage & Grill for Traffic Jams LIVE, an afternoon of music, connection and support.
Hosted by Lisa Wilton and co-host Kate Stevens, this event features live performances by musical chameleon Steve Pineo, soulful rising talent Marcus Trummer, and powerhouse vocalist Kaiya Gamble. We’ll even get to hear a preview of Kue Varo’s brand-new single.
It’s going to be a true celebration of Alberta’s vibrant music and arts scene. It’s the perfect way to launch the fundraiser and feel the energy that makes CKUA what it is.
“We are connected through the power of the airwaves, which is really lovely,” says Stevens. “But it is truly such a joy to be a part of these live events and meeting listeners, chatting with donors. It reminds me how strong and connected our community is.”
It’s especially fun hosting an event at the very start of all the fundraiser on-goings, she says.
“The first day of Fundraiser is just so, so special. You can really feel the energy of our community when we’re all in the same room together.”
The afternoon is set to be casual, joyful and full of good vibes. As Stevens puts it, “What ISN’T going to be fun about this event?”
“It’s going to feel like a celebration of Alberta’s music scene, our arts and culture scene, and of course, everyone who keeps CKUA alive. Why wouldn’t you want to come hang out with us?” she laughs.
