Lark Clark behind the curtain of ‘Ancestors & Elders’

‘Ancestors & Elders’ is a unique co-production between the Ukrainian Shumka dancers of Edmonton and a collective of Indigenous dancers, actors, storytellers and visual artists.  Shumka dancer and director, Joe Hoffman, and costumer-designer, Megan Koshka, came into the CKUA studio to talk about the unfolding development of the program.  They shared what needs to be said and done to create a show about the Ukrainian settlers and the Indigenous peoples on the land here in Alberta.  The face-to-face conversations between Ukrainian descendants and the Indigenous community take place in meeting rooms and rehearsal studios.  Can a common goal emerge?
