Mark Clintberg opens a Portal at Latitude 53

Using a bizarre event that took place in Central Memorial Park in Calgary in the 1970s, as a jumping off point, visual artist Mark Clintberg explores how non-normative sexuality and disenfranchised people have been characterized in the media in the past, and how it has continued to reverberate, up to the present day.

Mark Clintberg is a queer artist who works in the field of art history. He is an Associate Professor at the Alberta University of the Arts. Portal is on now until January 9th at Latitude 53 Gallery in Edmonton.
