For most artists, the frame is last thing they think about. For Airdrie-based visual artist, Brad Holt, it’s usually the inspiration for the painting he’s about to create.
During the past decade, Brad has made a name for himself in the western art world with his unique mixed media pieces, which feature frames created out of such objects as old barn doors, sandstone from historical hotels, vintage truck tailgates and pieces of grain elevator machinery.
Brad recently created two paintings paying tribute to Alberta’s healthcare workers and other essential workers.
