Edmonton’s first ever Drag Festival debuts on June 17, 2023. The inaugural festival features a wide range of drag performers, including numerous local and international acts. The Edmonton Drag Festival spotlights drag queens, kings and monarchs, with incredible names ranging from “Billie Eyelash” to “Celine Dejion” and “Shaneonyou”.
Three alumni of hit drag competition show, Canada’s Drag Race, headline the festival this year. Together, the trio of Gia Metric, Kendall Gender and Synthia Kiss form “The Bratpack”. The full list of performers is available at edmontondragfestival.ca.
The Edmonton Drag Festival is organized by drag enthusiast and local café owner, Conroy Smith, along with his partner Keith King, who is a retired drag performer. Conroy joined CKUA’s Tony King on Wednesday’s Thoroughfare to tell us more about the inaugural festival!
