An upcoming event, in partnership with the University of Alberta’s Sound Studies Institute, will put several outstanding women artists from Folkways on the same stage this month.
The Women of Folkways concert is a celebration of women by women, featuring celebrated folk artists Shawna Caspi, Maria Dunn, Linda McRae, Terry Morrison and Dana Wylie. The concert is set to take place at Edmonton’s Northern Lights Folk Club on March 12, with a discussion panel featuring the artists set to follow it on March 14.
Plans are also in place to bring Women of Folkways to other locations across the province, including Calgary and Vermilion. Terry Morrison recently joined CKUA’s Grant Stovel:
