Otehiwin // Open House: Songwriters and Storytellers Circle is a special event capping off a full week of programming at Edmonton’s Public Library honouring the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
Taking place on Sunday, October 1, the event features performances from local Indigenous artists and remarks from Alberta Artist in Residence Sharon Rose Kootenay, this circle of music and spoken word invites attendees to join in with a song of their own, play the hand drum or join in on the songs of others.
The Songwriters and Storytellers Circle at the EPL is hosted by fiddler and founding member of Edmonton-based band Monks on Call, Colten Bear. He joins Tony King for music and conversation on Wednesday’s Thoroughfare.
