Interview

Whether you have visited the UAlberta Museums in-person or not, their new virtual reality tours are a hi-tech opportunity to discover the museums vast collections.

One such exhibition is Shifting Geographies ᐊᓯᔾᔨᕐᓂᖏᑦ ᓄᓇᖏᑦ. This collection considers a range of Inuit works that highlight the lifestyle and cultural changes across the Canadian Arctic. This exhibition shows how knowledge and skills have been passed on and transformed from one generation to the next.

“You have mothers & grandmothers & daughters all participating…you get this intergenerational transformation showcasing the different works of art and the different techniques and how they grow, and how they’ve changed and been adapted.” – Jill Horbay

CKUA’s Grant Stovel had a chance to catch up with Jill Horbay, the Communications and Marketing Manager – University of Alberta Museums.

UAlberta Museums VR exhibition tours are easy to use and accessible to everyone. They have been tested on all common devices, browsers, and operating systems. You can check out the Shifting Geographies ᐊᓯᔾᔨᕐᓂᖏᑦ ᓄᓇᖏᑦ exhibit right now on the University of Alberta Museums website.
