RAW Artists Canada contributes to the Fight Against COVID-19

Interview

RAW Artists Canada is an independent arts organization, hosting events across Canada and around the globe, designed specifically to share and support the work of local artists. This includes visual art, film, fashion & accessories design, music, performance art, beauty, crafts, technology and photography.

Even though they have had to postpone all events until the end of June, RAW continues to make a difference in local communities across the country with their RAW Artists Canada Making Masks Initiative

“When RAW in the United States launched their mask making initiative, RAW Artists Canada immediately followed,” said Michelle Bylow, Executive Director of Raw Artists Canada. “We have a large community of artists wanting to help. This initiative gives artists and makers an opportunity to do their part.”

RAW Artists Canada has already shipped 8600 masks across Canada. Those masks have gone to organizations like the Calgary Women’s Shelter and The Mustard Seed. The group is about to start a second wave of the project.

Michelle Bylow joined Grant Stovel on Alberta Mornings to talk about the second wave of production.
