Rapid Fire Theatre reinvents improv

#FringeSpot

In 1988 the talented improvisers from The Edmonton Theatresports/Improv League formed a new theatre company, Rapid Fire Theatre. In 2020 however, the Edmonton group has had to reinvent the craft of improv itself.

On today’s #FringeSpot, Peter Brown explores the challenges of online improv with three acclaimed Rapid Fire improvisers – Mark Meer, Joleen Ballendine, and Matt Schuurman:

Saturday night, Aug 22nd at 7pm, you can watch Rapid Fire Theatre jump into unfamiliar waters during their live and online improvised comedy performance, as part of The Fringe That Never Was and The Late Night Cabaret.

From August 10th – 21st, CKUA is celebrating The Edmonton Fringe that Never Was.

Josh Languedoc found his audience and his voice on the Canadian Fringe circuit. His play Rocko and Nakota celebrates indigenous storytelling and tradition, and on Tuesday Aug 18th at 5:45pm, he’ll tell us how his story developed at the Fringe.
