Rae Spoon shares career-spanning ‘Songbook’ set

Interview

When people turn 40, they might be inclined to buy a nice car, or throw a big party.

Calgary-born musician Rae Spoon chose to celebrate their 40th with a much more musical approach.

Rae Spoon’s Songbook is a digital box set that was released last week, and includes 109 songs and accompanying sheet music, with the earliest tracks dating back to Spoon’s long out-of-print, 2001 folkie EP, Honking at Minivans. You can purchase Songbook at coaxrecords.com.

Also, head on over to raespoon.com to discover more about Rae’s life and career.

Rae chatted with CKUA’s Grant Stovel recently, about that musical celebration and the creative journey it represents for them.
