Puppets Go Existential

A long-running Calgary puppetry conference is going digital and it’s offering the public a whimsical look at the artform. WP Puppet Theatre presents Puppet Power 2020: Puppets Go Existential this Saturday and Sunday.

So what is the power of puppetry? And how can we call use it? WP Puppet Theatre shares:

First, we can all utilize puppetry as a springboard to conversation, with your children or others. Sometimes it’s easier to speak of difficult subjects, worries or fears through a proxy like a puppet. Second, making puppets together is a lovely community building, bonding and fun project.

Wendy Passmore-Godfrey is WP Puppet Theatre’s Artistic & Founding Director and joined Lisa Wilton. Wendy gives us a peek behind the curtain of a conference that looks at how puppets can spur social change.

Puppet Power 2020: Puppets Go Existential is for adult or youth who is inspired to express themselves creatively, develop personal and professional skills and promote positive social change.
